A ‘Contest’ to Celebrate Masturbation Month

TWO YEARS.  That’s how long my divorced girlfriend, whom I referred to in Tuesday’s article , has gone without sex.  What I didn’t mention, however, is how she went that long without losing her mind: sex toys.

“I have a whole drawer full,” she’d laughed.  “All my Battery Operated Boyfriends are within arm’s reach.”

Suddenly, she leaned and whispered:  “I gave myself my first G-spot orgasm with one of my toys.”

Really?”

“Yup,” she grinned.  Then:  “Hmmm… isn’t that kind of sad?”

I personally don’t think it’s sad – I’m just plain jealous.  I wish I knew and understood the art of pleasuring oneself better; I certainly have more to learn.

And on that note: Did you know that May is National Masturbation Month? Before you start laughing or rolling your eyes, please know that this month was christened over 10 years ago by San Francisco-based sex store Good Vibrations in protest of the firing of U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders.  She outraged conservative lawmakers by suggesting that the topic of masturbation should be taught in schools as an important part of human sexuality.

So, in the spirit of celebrating our new ‘after-divorce’ Selves and our solo-loving, I wanted to point you to a contest that my single mom friend “T” is holding on her site.   Doesn’t matter what your marital status is – all you have to do leave her a comment with a great scenario, story, or brief summary of your riskiest masturbation moment. And you could win a $50 coupon to Eden Fantasys.

And YES, my friend – you can add your comment anonymously too.:)

Laugh or roll my eyes? Never! This is a serious subject. Some days more serious than others…at my house anyway.
Glad to know there is a month set aside to celebrate self-love.

  2. Nan says:

I will celebrate but I want be sharing stories of how I do that. That would be more information than I’m willing to share.

  3. Cathy says:

Probably more info than I care to hear also :-)

  4. Delaine says:

But I bet my friend T is having some good reads:)

  5. Cathy says:

Don’t you know it Delaine! And, in my book nothing gets the motor humming better that “good reads.”
